Francis and Lisa Heywood acquired Blue Anchor House in May 2021 shortly after the second COVID-19 lockdown. They immediately began renovating the four apartments within the house, creating stylish, luxury accommodations with a homely feel. They continue to make improvements by installing their third hot tub and decking area.

We particularly love to see the steam train travelling past the house and arriving at Blue Anchor Station, with the sea and moors as the backdrop. It never fails to fill us with a sense of nostalgia.”
Blue Anchor House is situated in the picturesque seaside village of Blue Anchor, just off the A39 in West Somerset. The West Somerset Steam Railway Line runs through Blue Anchor, directly past the back garden of Blue Anchor House. From the Railway you can visit the Seaside Resort of Minehead, the Historic Harbour town of Watchet or the beautiful Quantock Hills AONB. Blue Anchor has one pub, The Smugglers and two cafes, Driftwood Cafe and The Bay which is located on the Hoburne Holiday Site, and open to the public all year round. Hoburne also has a swimming pool, gym and sauna which is open to non-residents, term time and weekdays only. The South West Coast Path runs along Blue Anchor Beach, parallel to the West Somerset Steam Railway Line, taking in the beautiful scenery. Blue Anchor is an excellent base for exploring the nearby Exmoor National Park and its picturesque villages, including Dunster, Porlock and Lynton and Lynmouth. A wider range of shops and services are available in nearby Minehead.
